Jim Peplinski, Calgary Flames Alumni

Hockey Helps the Homeless is proud and deeply honoured to have retired NHL player Jim Peplinski on our team.

Born October 24, 1960 in Renfrew, Ontario, Jim started off playing junior hockey for the Toronto Marlboroughs of the OHL. He was then drafted by the Atlanta Flames in the 1978 NHL Amateur Draft, and became one of five active NHL players who played on Canada's 1988 Olympic hockey team. In 1989, Jim co-captained the Calgary Flames in their Stanley Cup victory against the Montreal Canadiens. Peplinski came back for six more games the following season before retiring to the broadcast booth where he established himself as an articulate colour analyst for the CBC.
