Karl Dykhuis

Karl Dykhuis was born July 8, 1972 in Sept Iles, Quebec. A graduate of the QMJHL, Dykhuis played four seasons in the QMJHL with stops in Hull, Verdun and Longueuil before suiting up for the Canadian national team in 1990-91. A gold medallist with Canada's World Junior team in 1991, Dykhuis rejoined the Canadian national team for part of the 1991-92, and represented Canada for the second time at the 1992 World Junior Championships.

Drafted 16th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft, Dykhuis made his NHL debut during the 1991-92 season and went on to spend parts of three seasons with the Blackhawk organization before he was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers in February 1995.

In 1995-96, Dykhuis played all 82 games for the Flyers and scored 20 points (5-15-20) from the blueline as the team won the Atlantic Division title. After three seasons with the Flyers, the Tampa Bay Lightning acquired Dykhuis and forward Mikael Renberg in exchange for four first round draft picks in August 1997, but was shortly after traded back to the Flyers.

In 1999-2000, Dykhuis was sent to the Montreal Canadiens where he has played for the better part of five seasons.
