2008-09: Helped Brampton reach the semifinals of the 2009 Clarkson Cup.
2007-08: Helped Brampton win the CWHL championship.
2006-07: Named an NCAA Second Team All-American, ECAC Player of the Year, New England Hockey Writers MVP and to the ECAC First All-Star Team … Dartmouth’s captain … A top 10 finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award, given to the top female player in U.S. college hockey.
2003-04: Named to the All-Ivy Second Team and was an honourable mention for the ECAC First All-Star Team … 2001-02: Won the Ontario senior women’s hockey championship as a member of the Beatrice Aeros … OTHER: Captained Ontario Red to a gold medal at the 2001 National Women’s Under-18 Hockey Challenge in Trois-Rivières, Que.
Gillian has been part of Canada’s National Women’s Team since 2001. She has played in two Olympic Winter Games (2006, gold; 2010, gold), five IIHF World Women’s Championships (2004, gold; 2005, silver; 2007, gold; 2008, silver; 2009, silver), nine 4 Nations Cups (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010), the 2009 Hockey Canada Cup and 2005 Torino Ice Tournament!
Gillian played in a six-game series vs. the United States leading up to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
She was named to the Media All-Star Team at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turino, Italy.
Named to Canada’s 2003 IIHF World Women’s Championship roster, but the championship was subsequently cancelled.
Was the youngest centralized player in Calgary, Alta., with Canada’s National Women’s Team in 2001-02, in preparation for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
Daughter of Syl and Anne, Gillian has one brother, Syl and one sister, Amy. Her father, Syl, played 727 games in the NHL from 1970 through 1980 with the New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Los Angeles Kings …Grandfather, Syl, played in the NHL from 1936 through 1947 with the Toronto Maple Leafs and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1961.
