Hockey Helps the Homeless Cup

Montreal and Toronto

The Hockey Helps the Homeless Cup is an exciting new program that pairs up a regular season game schedule for high school aged hockey players in a specific division or league with an online fundraising competition. The goal is to raise awareness among high school aged players while also raising money for local homeless organizations. Here’s how it works:

  • A group of teams from a division or league teams become official partners and wear a Hockey Helps the Homeless patch on their jerseys throughout the 2011-12 season
  • Players and teams compete in MVP Player and Team Incentive Programs
  • A point system is worked out for games (each team included in the program play each other twice a year). The accumulation of game points is one aspect of determining the cup winner.
  • A separate point system using the total dollars that each team raises over the regularly scheduled season also goes towards determining the Cup winner
  • At the end of the regular season, the top two teams in the combined in-game challenges and fundraising and will face off for the HHTH Cup.

Players will enjoy our traditional pro-tournament experience featuring:

  • A special local venue to play in
  • The treasured Hockey Helps the Homeless Cup
  • Euro design pro-stitched third jerseys and matching socks
  • Fully equipped locker rooms (tape, sports drinks, snacks)
  • A participation gift from our generous sponsor (Warrior)
  • A trainer and equipment manager for the game

Fundraising Incentives will be given out to top individual fundraisers and will include exciting merchandise, compliments of our key partner Warrior Hockey.
